Working as a nursing assistant on wards 56/58 is an exciting job where you will meet patients with many complex diagnoses. You will have the opportunity to develop and use your skills in both acute care and in assessing nursing and rehabilitation interventions. The pace and tasks will vary during your shifts. Here, you will follow the patient for several weeks up to a few months. We work person-centered together in teams. You will be offered individual orientation. Documentation is currently done in the TakeCare journal system, and a new journal system, Cosmic, will be introduced in the fall.

Nursing Assistant for Wards 56/58 GerRehab Falun

Job Responsibilities

On wards 56/58, you will work days, evenings, and weekends with a focus on geriatrics and rehabilitation. The wards work together but are divided into two care teams.

• On ward 58, we care for patients within general geriatrics, stroke rehabilitation, and orthopedic rehabilitation. Caring for multi-sick elderly patients makes the work interesting, and you will gain a broad range of skills as you follow the patient for several weeks.
• On ward 56, we care for patients primarily of working age who have suffered from stroke, brain injury, or spinal cord injury. The care aims for the patient to achieve increased function with autonomy, activity, and participation in their life situation.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Nursing assistant education. You have a degree from the Health and Care Program or equivalent relevant education.

Who are you?

• You have a genuine interest in developing your skills in geriatrics/rehabilitation.
• You appreciate challenges and working with different tasks at a varied pace.
• You are self-sufficient and a reliable person who takes responsibility for your work tasks, and you can structure and prioritize your work.
• You have good collaboration skills and a positive attitude towards colleagues and patients.

It is an advantage if you have:

• Experience from previous work in geriatrics and rehabilitation medicine.
• Experience with patients with tracheostomy, ventilators, and cough machines.
